Variety of Dance Unlimited at Florida Folk Fest

By Linda Fudala-Tucker

Dance has always played a role in the make-up of any given culture, and last weekend at the Florida Folk Festival, there seemed to be an unlimited variety. What was also interesting, is that every one of the dance groups was willing to teach and share their unique form of dance.

A Hispanic and an Indian girl learn the salsa.

A dance troupe from Ghana brought high energy, athletic dance to festival.

Dancers from Gainesville perform 600-year old folk dance originating from Southwest England.

Asian girls get a lesson in Latin rythmns using sticks.

Brazilian dancers delight an audience.

There was a 'whole lota shakin' goin' on' during the Native American demonstration.
