and many others, we will continue to do all that we can to provide emergency food to those in need in Charlotte and elsewhere in our area," said Morrill, who announced plans for a new warehouse.

"We are determined to build a new warehouse/ headquarters that will permit us to expand the amount of food we provide from 4 million lbs. presently to 11 million lbs. by 2008. We now have 9 acres of land in Lee County located on I-75 so deliveries north to Charlotte will be fast and easy. More importantly, we will now be able to accept huge donations of awesome food from around the nation -- meats, produce, frozen foods, and other varieties.

"In our 5 county area (fact sheet also attached), there are over 110,000 people in poverty. Presently, we are struggling to provide emergency food for only 50,000 people. A new Food Bank, to be built next year, will allow us to fully meet the needs of everyone in Southwest Florida who is hurting and hungry AND be prepared to address disasters like Charley."
