'Twas the Night of Nativity …and every creature was stirring
By Linda Fudala-Tucker Illustrations by Mary Fudala Stillwagon
T'was the night of Nativity in Bethlehem town; Every creature was stirring there was such a crowd!
Caesar Augustus put out the decree; that all should be counted and taxed, you see.
The night was cold and lonely, not a room to be found; Where Mary and Joseph could find shelter warm and sound.
To a stable they were directed where beast and fowl dwell; There were donkeys, cows and oxen and oh, how it smelled!
Though humble and lowly it served as the place; where Mary gave birth to a child of grace.
And they called his name Jesus as the angel foretold; Because he was sent to save men’s souls.
The poem goes on to include the shepherds, Wise men, angels, and more. It also includes 11 "old familiar carols" (with music) to sing with your kids. Special offer! Order your copy directly from the author. Get
